Allison Litera's artwork is extremely diverse, ranging from highly detailed illustrations to whimsical cartoons. She loves experimenting with 3D components to illustrations and hopes to continue this trend in future work. She is fascinated and inspired by fairy tales, the first half of the 20th century, bright colors, the circus, maps and transportation, and classic rock n' roll.
During her senior year at the Hartford Art School, she is completing a BFA in illustration with an art history minor. She is currently a Caricature Artist at Six Flags New England for the 2012 season. Exhibitions of her work have been shown at the Eastern States Exposition Home Show, Mass Mutual, and the Hartford Art School. She is a recipient of the CADC Student Conference Scholarship, two Silver Key Awards from the Boston Globe, and The Springfield Republican's Talented Teens in the Arts award.
Experience includes internships at The Amistad Center for Art & Culture at the Wadsworth Atheneum (curatorial intern), The Springfield Republican (marketing department artist), the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum (Art Discovery Center intern), the Wilbraham-Hampden Times (staff illustrator), Wintonbury Care Center (art therapy volunteer), and the Hartford Childrens Theatre (scenic painter).
In her spare time, Allison likes to do yoga, play the ukulele, travel, and snowboard.
